The all-new Volkswagen Taos is set to arrive at dealerships in the summer of 2021 and feature a new fuel-efficient engine. This engine is the latest example of the automaker’s continuing innovation of technology and is another milestone as the automaker strives for excellence in engineering.
The Taos comes with a new variant of the EA211 turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is currently standard on the Jetta. For the Taos, this gasoline engine grows from 1.4 to 1.5 liters as well as delivers 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
The powertrain has a modified version of the Miller cycle, closing the intake valves early in the induction stroke to improve fuel economy. A high-pressure injection system with a maximum of 350 bar, a map-controlled cooling module, APS coated cylinder liners, and Variable Turbine Geometry technology further enhance efficiency.
On front-wheel-drive models, the engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission with a Sport mode. All-wheel-drive models have a seven-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission, making for smooth drives no matter where you venture around Lewisville, Texas.
The new engine of the VW Taos is just one of the many innovative features that will make the model stand out in the competitive compact SUV segment. If you’d like to test-drive this model after it makes its way to Lewisville Volkswagen, be sure to give us a call.
If you’re looking for a reliable daily driver in Lewisville, Texas, look no further than the Volkswagen lineup of sedans. Models, like the 2020 Passat and Jetta, have durable designs and loads of helpful safety tools so you can have peace of mind, even when driving in rush-hour traffic.
Automatic Post-Collision Braking System
The Passat and Jetta each come with the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, which slows down the sedans after a collision.* Accordingly, this technology helps prevent you from getting into a second collision.*
Forward Collision Warning
Another standard feature, Forward Collision Warning uses visual and audible alerts when there’s a possible rear-end collision with the vehicle in front of you.** If you don’t act to prevent the collision, Automatic Emergency Braking will apply the brakes.**
Lane Keeping System
Available Lane Assist can detect if you’ve drifted out of your lane without turning on your turn signal.** It can even keep your sedan in between detected lane markings.** When you do put on your turn signal, the Blind Spot Monitor will warn you when a car is in your blind spot so you know when to switch lanes.*
With all these safety technologies and more, the VW Passat and Jetta are able to protect you and your passengers on the road. Take these models out for test drives at Lewisville Volkswagen to try out their safety tools and other innovative features.
